Recycling has decreased 7 percentage points in the waste authority for Wirral

The waste authority for Wirral is Merseyside WDA (MBC). Back in 2015 Merseyside WDA (MBC) recycled 43.8% of its waste, landfilled 45.6%, and incinerated 8.1%.

By 2023 incineration had increased by 44.9 percentage points to 53%.

Recycling decreased over the same period by 7 percentage points to 36.9%. In 2023 7.8% of waste was landfilled.
