Recycling has increased 6.2 percentage points in the waste authority for Gloucestershire

Back in 2015 Gloucestershire County Council recycled 46.7% of its waste, landfilled 52.3%, and incinerated 0.8%.

By 2023 incineration had increased by 45.7 percentage points to 46.5%.

Recycling increased over the same period by 6.2 percentage points to 52.9%. In 2023 0.4% of waste was landfilled.

There are currently 20 years left on a contract with Urbaser. The total contract value is £500m. The contract has a clawback arrangement: “https://www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/media/dmbjysnb/schedule-4.pdf”
