Recycling has increased 4.7 percentage points in the waste authority for Bolton

The waste authority for Bolton is Greater Manchester Combined Authority. Back in 2015 Greater Manchester WDA (MBC) recycled 43.4% of its waste, landfilled 30.3%, and incinerated 24.6%.

By 2023 incineration had increased by 27 percentage points to 51.6%.

Recycling increased over the same period by 4.7 percentage points to 48.1%. In 2023 1% of waste was landfilled.

There are currently 2 years left on a contract with Suez. The total contract value is £1,000m.
