Recycling has increased 7.1 percentage points in the waste authority for Renfrewshire

Back in 2014 Renfrewshire recycled 46.9% of its waste, landfilled 31.5%, and incinerated 21.6%.

By 2022 incineration had increased by 14.2 percentage points to 35.8%.

Recycling increased over the same period by 7.1 percentage points to 54%. In 2022 2.7% of waste was landfilled.

The waste authority for Renfrewshire is The Clyde Valley Project. There are currently 21 years left on a contract with Viridor. The total contract value is £700m.
