Recycling has increased 7 percentage points in the waste authority for Blackpool

Back in 2015 Blackpool Borough Council recycled 37.7% of its waste, landfilled 26%, and incinerated 14.4%.

By 2023 incineration had increased by 19.5 percentage points to 33.9%.

Recycling increased over the same period by 7 percentage points to 44.7%. In 2023 16.5% of waste was landfilled.

There are currently 0 years left on a contract with Lancashire Waste Recycling Limited/Lancashire Renewable Limited Agreement. The total contract value is £39m.
