Back in 2015 Wiltshire recycled 42.5% of its waste, landfilled 20.2%, and incinerated 31.4%.
By 2023 incineration had increased by 3.4 percentage points to 34.8%.
Recycling decreased over the same period by 0.2 percentage points to 42.3%. In 2023 16.1% of waste was landfilled.
There are currently 9 years left on a contract with FCC. The total contract value is £200m. The contract has a clawback arrangement: “The only benefit sharing arrangement relates to the small amount of value from Scrap Metal recovered under the MBT processing contract, this is shared 80%/20%, in the Council’s favour”
