Back in 2014 East Renfrewshire recycled 56.1% of its waste, landfilled
43.1%, and incinerated 0.7%.
By 2022 incineration had increased by 33.8 percentage points to
34.5%.
Recycling decreased over the same period by 0.1
percentage points to 56%. In 2022 7.9% of waste was landfilled.
The waste authority for East Renfrewshire is The Clyde
Valley Project. There are currently 21 years left on a contract with
Viridor. The total contract value is £700m.
