By 2023 incineration had increased by 63 percentage points to 63.1%.
Recycling decreased over the same period by 3.5 percentage points to 37%. In 2023 0% of waste was landfilled.
The waste authority for Torbay is South West Devon Waste Partnership. There are currently 15 years left on a contract with MVV Environment. The total contract value is £436m. The contract has a clawback arrangement: “The contract contains a mechanism for sharing Third Party Income associated with the Devonport EfW Facility. The details regarding the Third Party Income of the contract is deemed commercially sensitive”
