Recycling has decreased 10.9 percentage points in the waste authority for Hartlepool

Back in 2015 Hartlepool Borough Council recycled 38.2% of its waste, landfilled 7.4%, and incinerated 54.5%.

By 2023 incineration had increased by 12.9 percentage points to 67.4%.

Recycling decreased over the same period by 10.9 percentage points to 27.3%. In 2023 5.3% of waste was landfilled.

The waste authority for Hartlepool is Tees Valley Joint Waste Management Strategy. There are currently #VALUE! years left on a contract with Suez.
