Recycling has decreased 3.7 percentage points in the waste authority for Harrow

The waste authority for Harrow is West London Waste Authority. Back in 2015 West London Waste Authority recycled 35.8% of its waste, landfilled 40.9%, and incinerated 22.9%.

By 2023 incineration had increased by 43.4 percentage points to 66.3%.

Recycling decreased over the same period by 3.7 percentage points to 32%. In 2023 0.2% of waste was landfilled.

There are currently 17 years left on a contract with WLWA processes waste through Energy from Waste via two separate contracts through Suez and Viridor Waste Management.. The total contract value is £2019m.
