Recycling has increased 5.4 percentage points in the waste authority for Rotherham

Back in 2015 Rotherham MBC recycled 39.9% of its waste, landfilled 33.2%, and incinerated 24%.

By 2023 incineration had increased by 14.7 percentage points to 38.7%.

Recycling increased over the same period by 5.4 percentage points to 45.2%. In 2023 0.4% of waste was landfilled.

There are currently 16 years left on a contract with Renewi. The total contract value is £750m.
