Back in 2014 East Dunbartonshire recycled 44.5% of its waste, landfilled 43.7%, and incinerated 4.8%.
By 2022 incineration had increased by 39.5 percentage points to 44.3%.
Recycling increased over the same period by 7.5 percentage points to 52%. In 2022 4% of waste was landfilled.
The waste authority for East Dunbartonshire is The Clyde Valley Project. There are currently 21 years left on a contract with Viridor. The total contract value is £700m.
